The mountains of North Carolina are beautiful, big, and very HOT right now. Cell phone reception is marginal to none, and my apologies to all.... Sipke and Karen completed their journey on the 9th, 29 DAYS, and 273 miles after their start, in Hot Springs, NC. I joined them for 2 1/2 days of travel by foot.... in record heat. What an adventure. Sipke will fill you in later with the details (we hope to have a blog shortly) but the scenery, the characters, the work, and the bears are worth the trip. We delivered Karen to Charlottesville, va on Wednesday, just in time to catch her train back to the TC, only to find she'll be delayed due to the flooding in Wisconsin Dells. What a mess... Sipke and Renee are now on the road to Chincoteaque, VA, and should be there in a few hours. We plan on doing a couple of day paddles with the wild horses at Assateaque National Seashore. This is a childhood dream of mine.... I think I read the book, Misty of Chincoteaque about a million times when I was five. We also plan to take one day and take the train to Washington DC, give Sipke a taste of the mall and museums. He may disappear on me out there! All is well here... we're not so tired any more, and our legs are recovering. Hope all of you are enjoying the spring.... 55 degrees I heard today. Sounds great to me, we're looking at high 80s. again. 95% humidity. again. Take care, and we'll post an email about our blog when we get it set up. Renee
