Southern Patagonia, Chile

Landing in Punta Arenas on the Magellian Strait, we first made our way north to Puerto Natales, then on to the main attraction, Torres del Paine. Declared a Chilean National Park in 1959 to protect the land from cattle overgrazing, Torres del Paine was also awarded the title of World Biosphere Reserve in 1978 by the UNESCO.
